Blog Tracker and Learner Response

Feedback:

Carlo,

Your Media blog continues to be absolutely outstanding – well done! Not only is it fully up-to-date but the quality and detail in every post is so impressive. I’m delighted to see how much time you spent on the learner response as that level of reflection and interrogation of the mark scheme will be so helpful in going for a grade 9. Beyond this, though, your analysis is just a joy to read. The choice and deconstruction of the Heinz advert as the extension task for reception theory is just superb – particularly your final point that audiences who take an oppositional reading will be unlikely to accept any part of the advert once they view it as racist. The perception and insight you offer throughout the posts – as well as the excellent presentation – make this one of the best GCSE Media blogs I have seen. Keep up the good work!

1) List any tasks you have that are missing or incomplete.

N/A

2) Reflect on your tracker/feedback and write what you need to do this week to get your tracker all green or improve your work in GCSE Media.

I need to be revising more so that I am be able to continually apply theories in exams and easily name camera shots. I could do this through terminology and theory flash cards, practicing through past papers, etc. Specifically, I should revise: Demographics and Psychographics; Camera movement and editing; Camera shots; etc. I could also potentially try to learn more theories on my own.

3) Finally, come up with a list of three things you are going to do this half-term to help you make progress in Media.

Revision in general
Doing past papers or making flash cards
Learning extra theories
